Shredding Radio has been webcasting great underground rock continuously 7 days a week, 24 hours a day since March of 2000. In recent years interest in a streaming format has decreased, and we have decided to discontinue the 24/7 feed. We will be adding podcasts soon as a replacement.

April 2005 was one of several times when Wedding Present topped the SR charts

Check out an interesting feature at the bottom of this page. It's an RIAA detector. Just type a band into the search box and you will see which of their releases are indie, and which are on the RIAA labels. Check it out, it's pretty cool.

Please read part of our editor's column about downloading music from the internet. It's been in the news a lot these days, and there has been a steadily increasing bias in the reporting. For a stable connection to Shredding Radio with a Mac we recommend Apple's iTunes, and for the PC we suggest WinAmp. For more information on Shredding Paper, check out our magazine's web site at http://www.shreddingradio.com/sp.html

Please don't use Real Player for MP3 streaming - it is not designed to maintain the connection, and sounds bad without equalization. We have designed this site to sound great! It was not intended to be used with proprietary applications like Windows Media Player or Real Player. To hear the audio the way it's designed you'll need an MP3 application with 10 band EQ, and excellent computer speakers, or even better, get a connector that has a stereo mini plug out to RCA jacks, and plug the computer output directly in to your home stereo system. Any electronics store should have the connector, and a 20 foot long cord is less than $10. Then we'll sound as good as FM radio, but with better music.
