All-American Rejects Live From Oklahoma: The Too Bad for Hell DVD! DVD With an overall average running length of just over an hour, this DVD is actually broken into three sections. There are two videos, a self-video tour of their home town of Stillwater, OK, and a live concert from Tulsa. I made the mistake of watching the videos first. They come across as total emo, but the songs are way overproduced, taking away from their sound rather than adding, and one seems to focus more on vocalist Tysons blue eyes than the song (can we say potential teen heartthrob?). The 10-minute tour of their town is fun, but hokey. Not hardly punk as they sneak around their old high school, afraid of getting caught. How precious. It is the live, 44-minute multi-camera shoot portion that this DVD actually comes to life. Without all the trappings of the studio, they prove they actually can rock out. I almost recommend not bothering with the first two parts, but definitely enjoy the live show. If youre into emo, that is. RBF @ www.theall-americanrejects.com/merch |
