Clash – “The Essential Clash” DVD Yep, it’s the Clash memorial video collection. Quite a few live vids (with none too much detail concerning when they were shot) though at least the far-superior live rendition of “Should I Stay or Should I Go?” is included among them. Don’t worry though “Rock the Casbah” IS included here. The bonuses provide most of the highlights, including a brief 1976 interview snippet with an uncomprehending interviewer, filmed performance (shot at the same session – and in the same style – as “1977”, like they decided later which one would be the “single”) and a rather fun short film from Joe Strummer concerning drugs and gangsters, (is that Pearl Harbour I see as one of the girlfriends?) with Jones and Simonon perfect in their respective roles as mob boss and street punk.
