Superchunk - "Crowding Up Your Visual Field" DVD This includes a dozen of the band's videos, which unfortunately are a generic and unimaginative lot. The videoclip for "Watery Hands" is cute, and features David Cross and Janeane Garofalo, but like the rest, comes across as taking a shot at getting product on MTV. The band comments on the clips are a nice bonus feature. Although the listed tracks don't include the Chunk's great early material, hidden away in the bonus material are great videoclips for "Cast Iron" and "Ribbon." The band's first show from 1989 is a treat despite the home video quality sound. There are a few later performances, but don't expect studio SQ on those either. Finally, the ubiquitous video tour diary, from their 2001 tour. A nice collection of odds and ends for fans. Mel @ Merge Records |
