Meteors – “Video Nasty/Live at the Hellfire Club” DVD UK fabled Psychobillyists come to DVD with reissues of two live video releases (from ‘87/’88 and ’83 respectively) as well as three promos). The “Nasty” material features some well-shot rollicking performances marred by some noticeable pixilation (I’m grateful to Cherry Red for re-releasing these, but someone really needs to work on his/her video-to-digital skills). Good visual (aside from the pixilation) and audio quality as well. The 1983 Hellfire video is noticeably more worn visual-wise with a bit of a washed-out feel and the dreaded lines-across-the-screen effect. At least it doesn’t suffer from pixilation (ah, tradeoffs…) though the lines do make their presence known at times. If you’re a psychobilly fan and can overlook the visual problems you’ll have a rockin’ good time, but be advised that it’s a big “if”. David @ www.cherryred.co.uk |
