Dee Dee Ramone Hey Is Dee Dee Home? DVD Originally shot for the as-yet-unreleased Johnny Thunders flick Born to Lose, this is basically interview footage of Dee Dee Ramone, interspersed with shots of Dee Dee strumming on a guitar and explaining the meaning behind his various tattoos. Since this was originally meant for the JT flick, there isnt that much talk about his youth, his early days of the Ramones, etc.; the conversation mainly revolves around JT (including DDs impressions of the NY Dolls) and various heroin-related escapades. Nervous chuckles will come up here and there, (unlike his on-again off-again comrade, Dee Dee talks about things more matter-of-factly, and not with a little regret, than the junkie braggadocio of the man who preceded him in death). The cynic in me wonders if this footage would have been released separately if Dee Dee hadnt died (Id like to think that this would at least have been bonus footage in the finished product, but ). Still, this is one of the very few interview-oriented DVDs that merits repeated viewings. Bonus footage includes a photo gallery and a clip of the Heartbreakers doing a live take of Chinese Rocks, intercut with scenes of Johnny copping, while the package itself comes with a poster and Dee Dee tattoos.
